Flood Insurance

Did you know that flood is not covered under your Homeowners policy? If you live in a high risk flood area, you may be required to have Flood Insurance. If you are  not, we still might strongly recommend it.

The Government created the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) to help individuals protect against the devastating damages from a flood and support communities when building in flood prone areas.  Make sure you are covered if the worst should happen.

Coverage’s Available

Flood insurance is available to homeowners, renters, condo owners/renters, and commercial owners/renters.

What it covers

Flood insurance covers your home’s foundation elements and equipment that’s
necessary to support the structure (for example: furnace, water heaters, circuit
breakers, etc.)

Contents (for example: washer/dryer, or your freezer and the food in it) are covered
under Contents coverage and must be purchased in addition to building coverage.

Flood insurance does not cover basement improvements or personal belongings
that may be kept in a basement.
